  • 1 3-pound Hatfield Classic Boneless Ham

  • 1 10-ounce block yellow cheddar cheese, shredded (approximately 3 cups)
  • 1 8-ounce container sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Condiments & Seasonings

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup scallions minced small, tops and bottoms (34 scallions)
  • Dash of your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Bakery

  • dozen soft pull-apart slider rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F to prepare for baking the bacon and later the sliders.
  2. Crisp the Bacon: Lay the bacon strips on a parchment-lined sheet tray and bake for 15-20 minutes until crisp. Drain on paper towels, let cool, then chop into small pieces. Keep the oven on.
  3. Slice the Ham: Using a sharp slicing knife, slice the entire ham into thin slices. Set aside for assembly.
  4. Make Cheese Spread: In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, minced scallions, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix until thoroughly blended.
  5. Add Bacon to Spread: Fold the chopped cooked bacon into the cheese mixture to incorporate crispy smoky flavor.
  6. Prepare Slider Rolls: Slice each of the 18 slider rolls in half horizontally to create tops and bottoms.
  7. Assemble Sliders: Spread the bacon cheese mixture evenly on both the top and bottom halves of all the rolls. Then layer the ham slices on the bottom halves, folding larger slices to fit the roll size. Place the top halves over the ham.
  8. Arrange in Pan: Tightly pack the assembled sliders into a 9×13-inch baking pan or a slightly larger pan, ensuring they are close together for soft, pull-apart results.
  9. Brush with Butter: Brush the slider tops with melted butter to promote browning and added flavor.
  10. Bake Covered: Cover the pan with parchment paper and foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to warm the sliders evenly.
  11. Bake Uncovered: Remove the parchment and foil cover and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes until the tops are golden and the cheese spread is melty.
  12. Serve: Remove the baking pan from the oven and serve the sliders immediately while warm and delicious.

Notes

  • For best texture, use thick-cut hardwood smoked bacon for crispiness and smoky flavor.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to allow easy mixing with the other ingredients.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce according to your preferred spice level.
  • Tightly packing the sliders in the pan helps them stay soft and pull apart easily after baking.
  • You can swap yellow cheddar with sharp cheddar or your favorite melting cheese.
  • Store leftover sliders covered in the refrigerator and reheat gently in the oven.
