Ingredients

Scale

Pie Crust

  • 1 prepared pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

Filling

  • 1 cup toasted pecans
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s at the perfect temperature for baking the pie.
  2. Prepare Pie Crust: Place the prepared pie crust into your pie dish and crimp the edges neatly to create a decorative border and hold the filling.
  3. Mix Filling Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pure maple syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Add Pecans: Gently fold the toasted pecans into the filling mixture, making sure they are evenly distributed without breaking them up.
  5. Fill and Bake: Pour the pecan and syrup mixture into the prepared pie crust. Place the pie in the oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until the center is mostly set but retains a slight jiggle when gently shaken.
  6. Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack. This cooling step helps the filling to fully set for clean slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure pecans are toasted beforehand to enhance their flavor and crunch before adding to the filling.
  • Check the pie after 50 minutes and cover the edges with foil if they brown too quickly to prevent burning.
  • Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to ensure the filling firms up and slices cleanly.
  • Use pure maple syrup for best flavor; pancake syrup or imitation maple syrups will alter the taste.
  • Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
