Instructions

  1. Arrange Ingredients: Place each type of crispy cracker, bhel, and murukku in individual bowls. Similarly, set out separate bowls containing chopped vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes, cucumbers, pineapple, mangoes, radishes, boiled and roasted sweet potatoes, starfruit slices, and roasted corn kernels to allow easy access.
  2. Set Chutneys and Condiments: Offer bowls of tamarind chutney, cilantro-mint chutney, green chile chutney, and raita, along with roasted peanuts, cashews, chaat masala, red chile powder, and sev. Include lemon and lime wedges for additional spritzing.
  3. Guest Assembly: Invite guests to build their own chaat bowl. Suggest starting with a crunchy base from the available crackers or bhel, then layering on vegetables and fruits, adding chutneys and raita to balance flavors, finishing with a drizzle of lime juice and sprinkling various toppings like chaat masala, red chile powder, nuts, and sev.
  4. Enjoy: Encourage guests to mix ingredients well, using a spoon or traditional hands to enjoy a flavorful, textured, and customizable chaat experience.

Notes

  • You can prepare the chutneys and raita ahead of time to make assembly fast and easy during the party.
  • Feel free to add or substitute any fresh fruits or vegetables that are in season or to personal taste.
  • Adjust the spiciness by varying the amount and type of chilies used in chutneys and fresh chili additions.
  • For a vegan option, replace the raita with a dairy-free yogurt alternative.
  • Serve immediately after assembling to keep crackers crunchy and fresh.
