Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 200 g steak (ribeye or sirloin, sliced)
  • 200 g shrimp (peeled and deveined)

Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (divided)
  • Salt (for pasta water and seasoning)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for garnish)

Pasta

  • 300 g fettuccine or penne pasta

Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)

Others

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to the package instructions. Drain the pasta, reserving ½ cup of the pasta water for later use.
  2. Sear the Steak: Toss the steak slices with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak slices for 2–3 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: Toss the shrimp with the remaining 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the shrimp for 2–3 minutes, flipping once until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Alfredo Sauce: Using the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and gently simmer, stirring frequently. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with additional Cajun seasoning if desired, along with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Combine and Serve: Add the cooked pasta to the Alfredo sauce and toss well to coat. If the sauce is too thick, adjust its consistency by stirring in some of the reserved pasta water. Gently fold in the cooked steak and shrimp, distributing evenly. Serve the pasta immediately, garnished with fresh parsley, red pepper flakes, and a squeeze of lemon juice, if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add extra Cajun seasoning or red pepper flakes according to your taste preference.
  • You can substitute ribeye or sirloin steak with other tender cuts like strip steak or filet mignon.
  • If shrimp is not available, chicken breast pieces can be used instead, cooked similarly.
  • Reserve pasta water helps to loosen the Alfredo sauce for perfect consistency.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for best melting and authentic flavor.
  • This recipe can be doubled or halved depending on serving needs.
